Auction lots

40,242 lots shown

Estimated landed cost, before you bid

Every lot carries one estimated total in GBP — what the car truly costs to stand in United Kingdom, not just the bid. Leave the bid field empty and it follows our benchmark; type your own and it follows you.

  1. At the auction

    Auction bid

The winning hammer price in Japan, in yen.

  2. On the water

    Shipping & insurance

The voyage to your port, insured door to dock.

  3. At your border

    Import duty & taxes

Estimated from this car's own details. A tax still waiting on an official value is marked indicative.

  4. On arrival

    Registration fees

The fixed local charges to put it on the road.

  5. What you see

    Estimated landed cost

One number on every lot, in GBP.

Final amounts are confirmed on your invoice after the auction result — apart from the initial deposit, nothing is charged before you confirm it.

Live Auction FAQs

What buyers ask before their first bid — and after it.

Yes, the initial deposit (¥150,000 on bids up to ¥1,500,000, ¥300,000 on bids up to ¥3,000,000, ¥500,000 on bids up to ¥5,000,000, 15% of your bid on bids up to ¥8,000,000 and then 20% of your bid, charged in GBP), paid by card when you place the request. That deposit is what starts the Japan-side inspection. No bid is submitted in Japan until you have seen the findings and confirmed the final amount.
Yes. The initial deposit is ¥150,000 on bids up to ¥1,500,000, ¥300,000 on bids up to ¥3,000,000, ¥500,000 on bids up to ¥5,000,000, 15% of your bid on bids up to ¥8,000,000 and then 20% of your bid, shown in GBP on every lot before you bid. It is paid by card when you place the request, before the Japan-side inspection begins. It is refunded in full if Carbarn does not submit a bid, if your bid is unsuccessful, or if the car does not proceed after inspection — or you can move it to another auction vehicle instead.
Then you simply do not win, and you pay nothing. Any deposit already paid is returned in full or moved to your next lot. Most buyers shortlist a few similar lots across auction days, so a miss on one car usually means a win on the next.
Everything up to the port: your auction bid, freight and insurance to Southampton or Bristol (Portbury), Japan auction and export handling, Carbarn's agent fee, and United Kingdom's duty and taxes for the car's exact age, engine and value, at today's exchange rates. Your invoice after winning states the final amounts.
Yes, and every one of them is shown on the lot's cost breakdown before you bid: the Japan-side auction agent fee, which is banded by the bid amount, and Carbarn's agent fee. There are no membership or sign-up fees.
It is the level at which similar cars — same model, grade and condition — have actually sold at recent Japanese auctions. Bidding around the benchmark gives you a realistic chance without overpaying; you are always free to bid above or below it.
Yes, twice. Every lot carries the translated Japanese auction sheet with its official grade and the auction house photos. Once your bid request and initial deposit are in, our Japan-side team inspects the car in person and shares extra photos and any issue the sheet misses; the bid goes in only after you have reviewed them and confirmed the final amount.
Grades run from 5 (near new) through 4.5 and 4 (clean, light wear) to 3.5 and 3 (visible wear or repairs); R and RA mark repaired accident history. The sheet is issued by the auction house against the car's chassis number, and we show you the original scan, so any grade or mileage can be verified against the chassis.
The auction house records the odometer on the sheet and flags any car whose reading is suspect or replaced, and our Japan-side inspection checks the reading before a bid is submitted. Cars with a flagged odometer are marked as such, never presented as genuine mileage.
Our team contacts you the same day with the result and your invoice — the exact car price, freight and every fee stated plainly. Payment is due in GBP before the car is shipped (accepted: Bank Transfer and Credit / Debit Card); then we arrange the pre-shipment inspection, export documents and shipping, and you track every step in your Carbarn account.
Cars ship on the next sailing after inspection and export paperwork — sailings to United Kingdom run monthly and the voyage takes around 30-50 days to Southampton or Bristol (Portbury). You get vessel tracking and every document (invoice, Bill of Lading) in your account as it happens.
Only cars that clear United Kingdom's import rules are listed here; right-hand drive only. A lot you cannot see on this site is a lot you could not clear.
